Eric Hotz is a local artist who had his first solo exhibition in the Rock Family Gallery at the Mission Arts Centre in 2020

Recently Eric had a solo show at the Pitt Meadows art gallery and he had some kind words for us at the MAC:

"I will never forget that I had my first art show at the MAC art gallery in February 2020. I felt privileged to have been chosen to have an art exhibition for MAC and I acquired a number of leads resulting directly from my art show about showing at future exhibitions. Most of these leads did not materialize due to COVID shutting down art galleries last year but I managed to get stay in communication with the Pitt Meadows Art Gallery staff, which led to my current art show.

Since February 2020 I have been painting every day, as well as taking on art commissions, and I have seen an improvement in my art. Much of this I owe to my start at the MAC art gallery exhibition.

I believe more artists would benefit from their art being shown at the MAC art gallery. The art gallery has a nice atmosphere and lends itself well for the showing of art. The only way to improve as an artist is through practice and being seen. Having an art exhibition gives artists a better understanding of themselves, their abilities, and their art. The learning experience and feedback gained from having had an art show are crucial for personal growth as an artist because they can show what future possibilities and directions lay ahead".

    ECSF

The Mission Arts Council recently recieved a generous donation from the Emergency Community Support Fund to be used for the creation of Arts & Craft kits for seniors in isolation at TRIM (The Residence in Mission). Over the coming weeks the MAC will be creating and supplying several of these kits to seniors at TRIM.

Thank you to ECSF for making this possible.
